Things To Do Near HC

HC is an intricately designed campus with numerous facilities, such as the AstroTurf, swimming pool and the Science Research Centre. Unfortunately, beyond the campus is a barren land compared to our school. The few malls and stores around are constantly teeming with people, making it difficult to find new places to chill with friends after school. Fret not! Let me offer some hidden gems near our school for you to visit with your friends next time!

Firstly, you should consider paying 3 Meals a Day a visit! It is a small shop run by a Korean woman selling authentic Korean cuisine. Their dishes are simple, but delicious nonetheless! Dishes which are cheaper range from $10 to $15, but they also have great food for sharing at a higher price. It is located conveniently opposite Beauty World MRT Station, 3 stops away from Tan Kah Kee Station. Despite the slightly steeper price point for students, the tasty food is definitely worth it due to the generous servings of side dishes.

Adding on to the list of good food around Beauty World MRT is Udders. Although it is on the pricey side, it is a cosy place to get some refreshing dessert with friends after school. From 2.30pm to 5.30pm, a purchase of 2 scoops with a waffle gets you one scoop free! Thus, you can enjoy the sweet taste of ice cream without breaking the bank.

Situated a stone’s throw away from King Albert Park is Eagle Wings Cinematics, an independent cinema where you can catch a movie. Something unique to them is their small hall size - only 63 seats in a hall compared to 431 seats in regular movie theatres, which contributes to its cosy atmosphere. This does not come at an exorbitant price, at only $6.50 for students, which is cheaper than some mainstream cinemas. If you are feeling fancy, they also offer premium seats with comfier sofas and the option to order additional food and drinks right in the cinema!

All these places are enjoyable to go on their own, but what makes an experience truly memorable is the company you spend it with. No matter where you go, even if it is to the dreariest of places, making memories with your friends is what adds sentimental value to that location. These places are just a few ideas of where to go for you to spice up your next outing with your friends. I hope that you will give these places a try the next time you decide to have some fun. But remember, it is always the people that matter most!
